Back-to-School Night Before Hacks
For the second post in our back-to-school series, we’re sharing a few tips on what to do the night before! If you have trouble getting the little (and sometimes yourself) out of bed in the morning, these tips are for you! The start of the year is the best time to implement changes to your routine, so give these things some thought now and decide what’s going to work well for your family in the coming year!
1. Pack lunches!
Make this a habit this school year! Do your best not to go to bed without prepping (or at least planning) the kids’ lunches for the following day. This will save you so much time and effort in the AM — you’ll be thanking yourself!
2. Get backpacks in order!
Make sure your kids sort out exactly what they’re taking to school in the morning the night before. This not only saves minutes before school, but it will save a lot of drama because you won’t be getting those “I forgot something” phone calls in the middle of the day! Hooray!
3. Pick out outfits!
This is, without a doubt, one of the best ways to make everyone feel more organized is to pick out outfits the night before. Just take a few minutes and encourage each kid to lay out their clothes. In the morning, getting dressed will be drama-free!
4. Read for 20 minutes before bed!
This tip is one of the most important of all time! Carving out a chunk of time for your kids to read every day is the best way to prepare them for the day to come. Allow them to retain their love for recreational reading by letting this nighttime slot be reading of their own choosing!
