If you're living in the greater Tyler area this summer, we've got your calendar filled for the month of August! We've got the latest and greatest on local events that will make the final few weeks of summer last and last. So, read on if you're ready for August to be the sweetest month of summer yet!
Gentle Yoga offered at the Tyler Library
Wednesday, August 10, 2016, 12 – 1pm
Beginning July 6th, the one-hour class will start at 5pm and continue every Wednesday through August 24th. The class will be taught by Meagan Vrba who is certified in yoga, CPR, and first aid.
For those who would like to participate in the class, signup sheets and health waivers are located at the Library’s information desk. Please note that this program is for adults only and each class size is limited to 35. It is recommended that participants bring their own yoga mat.
Coffee and Cars Downtown Tyler

Coffee & Cars is a gathering of automotive enthusiasts who meet and share their passion for cars.
Piney Woods Excursion Train
Saturday, August 20, 2016, 11am – 3pm
Location: Texas State Railroad - Palestine Depot
Park Road 70, US Hwy 84 East, Palestine, TX
The train leaves the Palestine Texas State Railroad depot every Saturday morning. The trip through the piney woods is about one and a half hours each way with a hour layover at the Rusk depot for lunch. Since both depots are out of town, guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic lunch and eat in our beautiful park. Concession snacks and drinks are the only options available on site.
Back-to-School Fashion Bash
August 13, 2016, 1 – 3pm
Broadway Square Mall will host the Back-to-School Fashion Bash on Saturday, August 13th from 1 – 3 p.m. Participating stores will feature interactive models to provide great style tips and trends for Fall. Guests can snap pictures of their family and friends in the photo booth, enter giveaways, collect a swag bag and more! Local fashion bloggers, E for Fashion, will be holding style sessions and personal shopping opportunities for guests to enjoy. JuJubilee will be face painting and providing henna tattoos, as well as hilarious caricatures. Be sure to stop by Center Court and visit our great vendor tables for everything back-to-school!
